Al Qaeda asks Muslims to give weapons to Rohingyas, vows to punish Myanmar

New Delhi, Sep 13: Terrorist organisation al-Qaeda has come out in open support of Myanmar’s ethnic minority Rohingyas. The dreaded terror organisation while warning Myanmar of serious consequences has urged the Muslims across the world to help "fellow Muslims" Rohingyas  with “military support”. The al Qaeda statement added that the Myanmar government will face “punishment” for its “crimes”.  More than 4 lakh Rohingyas have fled from violence-hit Myanmar.

“We call upon all mujahid brothers in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and the Philippines to set out for Burma to help their Muslim brothers, and to make the necessary preparations — training and the like – to resist this oppression,” the statememt said.

The problem in Myanmar worsened after military intensified operations against Rohingyas after the minorty group launched coordinated attacks on police and army.

“The savage treatment meted out to our Muslim brothers…shall not pass without punishment,” the Islamist outfit said in the statement. “The government of Myanmar shall be made to taste what our Muslim brothers have tasted,” said the statement.
