New Delhi, Sep 13: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, 'Padmavati' has been in the news ever since its commencement. Featuring leading Bollywood stars Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh the film has been facing unending issues which have now affected the release date.
Buzz is that the period drama which was earlier scheduled to release in November this year will now release in February 2018. According to the media reports, the shoot was delayed due to the protests in Rajasthan which affected the post-production. Reportedly, Bhansali did not want to rush things and thus has decided to postpone the release date.
As stated in a leading daily,"SLB had an October 20 deadline, which is impossible to meet now. The workers' strike took away a few important days. Meanwhile, two of the principal actors — Deepika and Shahid — also had free dates, so they took off on vacations. A lot of the shoot is still left. The major chunk may have been shot, but some big action sequences are still left. Ranveer's portions as the young Alauddin Khilji, too, remain to be shot."
Apart from Anushka Sharma starrer 'Pari' which is all set to release on February 9, 2018, there is no other big film slotted for February yet.
