New Delhi, Jan 20: On Friday, Akshay Kumar announced the postponed release date of the "Padman" which has changed from January 25 to February 9 due to the request of Sanjay Leela Bhansali at a press conference held in the presence of both.
At the conference, Akshay said,"Bhansali Sir came to meet me today when I was practising for my performance for an Award show. He requested me to postpone my film causing Padmaavat to release without any clash.We have worked before and because of that I can't say no to him".
Akshay’s films Rowdy Rathore and Gabbar Is Back were produced by Bhansali.
According to IANS report, The entire "Pad Man" team is with Akshay on this issue.
"We are all in agreement on Akshay Sir's decision. There are so many big stars who deliberately look for box office clashes by pitching their films against other big films. Akshay Sir has shown the way to a peaceful co-existence in the film industry."
