Eva Longoria gets a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

Actress Eva Longoria has joined the 'stars' of the likes of Daniel Radcliffe, Scarlett Johansson, Mary Carlisle, Kirk Douglas and Richard Burton on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.

The 43-year-old actress was joined at the ceremony by her husband Jose Baston, family members and a group of celebrity friends, including former "Desperate Housewives" co-star Felicity Huffman, Anna Faris and Ricky Martin, reported eonline.com.

"It was really surreal today. I meant it when I said, 20 years ago, standing almost at this spot: 'I'm gonna have a star one day', and then, for it to happen. And then, of course, Felicity's speech and Ricky, and Anna... it's just overwhelming," said Longoria.

The actress unveiled her star, the 2,633rd, on the Walk of Fame here.

She then beamed about her next big real life role as a mother, and said: "Yes, the most important project's yet to come. It's been amazing and I feel really honoured and blessed that all of this is happening... This has been really, really special.

"I'll be taking a break after this. This is my last official work of duty and then just waiting, waiting for the baby."

Longoria and Baston are expecting a son later this spring.

The youngest of four sisters, Eva Longoria was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she grew up on a ranch. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Texas A&M-Kingsville, then entered a talent contest that took her to Los Angeles, where she was spotted and signed by an agent.

Her first TV role came in 2000,  on an episode of Beverly Hills, 90210. Shortly after, she was chosen to play Isabella on the long-running daytime drama The Young and the Restless. During her three years on the show, she won an ALMA Award for "Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama." She made the transition to nighttime TV in 2003.

Since better known in the industry, she landed roles in several TV movies, and when her series came to an end in 2004, Longoria starred in the low budget straight-to-video movie Carlita's Secret. But it was when she was cast as in the regular role of Gabrielle Solis on the ABC mega-hit Desperate Housewives that she became a household name. Along with the rest of the starring cast, she won two Screen Actors Guild awards back to back in 2005 and 2006 for "Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series."

In 2006, she was nominated for a Golden Globe for her work on the series and in 2007, won a People's Choice Award for "Favorite Female TV Star."

During her time off from the show, she had the opportunity to appear in several major motion pictures. Her big screen debut came in MGM Picture's Harsh Times(2006), starring Christian Bale. Next up was The Sentinel (2006), co-starring Michael Douglas and Kiefer Sutherland.
