New Delhi, Dec 2: Veteran Indian politician, who has been a veteran Congressman all his life was a bitter self when he came on News24 Conclave Gujarat Manthan. He
chose this platform to voice his pain as he bid adieu to his grand-old party Congress.
Making a silent scathing attack on all Congress President Sonia Gandhi's and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's 'yes-men' he said that the congess
was losing grounds because of these sycophants.
All who's who of Congress sitting in Delhi did not care a bit when Congressmen were abandoing the party and joinning BJP. Vaghela said that all his
warnings and suggestions were going unheeded and therfore he had no other option than to leave the party.
Reacting to the allegation that Vaghela was fixed by the BJP to break Congress internally the veteran politician said that all such allegations have ben
proved wrong as neithr was he made the governor nor did his son get a BJP ticket in Assembly elections.
On being asked will he ever join BJP, Vaghela said that that will never ever happen.
Criticising the high-handedness of the Congress he said that those who are attached to the field workers in Gujarat have no say inside the party. All
decisions are taken at Delhi Durbar and therefore the Congress drifted away from the voters of Gujarat.
What according to Vaghela are the issues confronting Gujarat Assembly Elections? The former Congressman said that the BJP is adept in raking up issues out of non-issues.
Alerting Congress he said that the Congress should not fall in this trap.
On the issue of employment he said that BJP has faltered on several issues. Anti-incumbancy factor may surprise BJP, he feels.
Forthcoming Gujarat Assembly Election is one of the most eagerly awaited events for obvious reasons. Gujarat is majorly seen as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home turf and elections here are a closely watched affair seen as a barometer of the PM’s popularity.
The elections in Gujarat have become furthermore interesting with the Patidars playing an important role in this time. What is adding to the intense drama is the Congress lending out an olive branch to the PAAS and its pet cause. So though apparently it appears to be advantage Congress, but this can be true only to some extent. Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi are leaving no stone unturned and the verbal war is on a day-to-day basis.
