iPhone 6 survives fall from edge of space
How strong is iPhone 6? Perhaps, enough to withstand a fall from the space. Well, this is what a California-based Urban Armor Gear did to find out whether the Apple’s latest product can take a beating.
The severe drop test was carried on iPhone 6 from the edge of space.
A video link of the drop test shows the device surviving 70 mph (112 km/h) winds and temperatures reaching below -56°C (-70 °F). Although the phone shut down during its flight due to the extreme temperatures, it was fully functional after the test – despite not having a screen protector, Daily Mail reported.
Urban Armor Gear had conducted the test in November, but released footage of the event only now. It said the test was done to demonstrate the durability of its protective case.
Steve Armstrong, the co-founder of Urban Armor Gear, was quoted by Daily Mail: ‘Our cases already meet military drop-test standards, but now we can officially say that they are space tested as well.’
