New Delhi, Sep 19: For now they are Jodi Number 1 of India. Yes, we are talking about PM Narendra Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath. They have a lot in common, apart from their party and the firebrand politics. The commonality extends to their personal lives also.
Both look at Bhakti for Shakti. So, both will observe a 9-day fast during Navratri.
PM Modi doesn’t take food (chapati, rice, etc) during these 9 days. He is off spices too. After his puja of Goddess Durga in the morning, he is off to work. It is in the evening that he takes warm ‘Nimbo Paani’ and fruits in the evening. He has been doing it for the last 40 years. Even during his US visit in 2014, he had stuck to the same schedule.
Like PM Modi, CM Yogi too observes 9-day fast during the Chaitra Navratri and the Sharad Navatri (which starts from Sep 21). He gets up at 3 in the morning and worships Goddess Durga. He observes fast and during the 9 days he just survives on milk, curd and fruits.
He also does ‘Kanya Pujan’ (worship of adolescent girls) by washing their feet and serving them food.
During Sharad Navratri, Yogi locks himself up in a room and doesn’t meet anybody for 9 days.
