Redmi 5 to be launched today at 3pm, know price, features and more

Bengaluru, March 14: Xiaomi on Wednesday unveiled the ultra-affordable "Mi TV 4A" series with 32-inch and 43-inch models, less than a month after it debuted its 55-inch "Mi TV 4" in India.

"Mi LED TV 4A" (43-inch variant) is priced at Rs 22,999 while "Mi LED TV 4A" (32-inch variant) costs Rs 13,999 and will be available online every Tuesday and Friday, starting March 13 and 16, respectively, across Xiaomi's online store and Flipkart.

The Chinese smartphone maker has put an end to all the rumors and speculations and has announced that Redmi 5 will be unveiled on Wednesday, March 14 at 3 pm.

Amazon India has also set up a new webpage especially for Redmi 5 mentioning that the device will be exclusive to its platform.

Mentioned as 'Coming Soon', with a Notify Me button that allows users to get the latest notifications about the smartphone.

Apart from Amazon or Flipkart Xiaomi also sells its new products on website and Mi Home offline stores.

Earlier, Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain took to Twitter to announce the upcoming launch of the new smartphone on March 14. However, Mr. Jain didn't confirm the device name but its reported that it will be another budget smartphone aka Redmi 5 as even Mr. Jain in another tweet mentioned that upcoming Redmi phone will be a Compact powerhouse with sleek in design.

#CompactPowerhouse is launching on 14th March!

Slim, sleek and compact! Yet a true super power house!

The company launched  Redmi 5 alongside the Redmi 5 Plus in China in December last year. In India, Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Plus are already available so it was obvious to be Redmi 5.

If specifications are concerned then Redmi 5 will feature a 5.7-inch HD+ display and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The dual-SIM smartphone will sport a 12MP rear camera and a 5MPl front camera, backed by a 3,300mAh battery.
