War clouds darken… Pak Army moves close to border, take over posts of Pak Rangers
New Delhi: The tension at the border has escalated further with deployment of Pakistan Army men at the border posts and camps normally manned by the Pakistan Rangers. The Border Security Force has noticed the changes along the international border (IB)in Jammu.
This means that the BSF will now be facing Pakistan Army. Indian Army guards the LoC, while IB is guarded by BSF.
Top sources have confirmed to The Times of India that along with soldiers Pak Army has deployed its weaponry at the Rangers’ posts over the last week. However, BSF officials say that it is difficult to say whether or not the Pakistan Army has taken complete control of the posts manned by Rangers.
BSF believes that rise in increase in shelling and firing along IB is related to the presence of Pak Army personnel. The Pak Rangers’ units opposite Indian sectors of RS Pura and Samba, worst hit by shelling, are being headed by Pakistan Army officers.
The Indian side believes that the situation is likely to continue till Pak Army Chief Raheel Sharif retires, as he may using the tension to get a successor of his choice.
