New Delhi: Akshay Kumar-Bhumi Pednekar’s love for toilets have taken them on the streets of Lucknow. Their upcoming film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is based on the subject of sanitation and the need to have a toilet in every household to reduce health issues among women and children. The story gels very well with PM Narendra Modi’s Swach Bharat Abhiyaan. But was it a genuine cleanliness drive on the streets of Lucknow or a gimmick to promote films?
Akshay-Bhumi’s love for toilet made them clean Lucknow streets along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Lucknow residents were in for a surprise when they saw the trio on a cleanliness drive. They started with a school in the capital city of UP.
CM Yogi Adityanath had vowed beginning cleanliness drive in the state, in a school. Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar were also present as he read out the oath.
He had earlier put a ban on paan-gutka on government workplaces.
He has also fixed Friday as the day when all the employees will clean the work-places. Scools and toilets will also be cleaned.
Helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, the movie is slated to hit the screens on August 11.
