New Delhi, March 20: In the latest news pouring in, BJP President Amit Shah will meet the disgruntled leader Om Prakash Rajbhar at 2 PM today. Yogi faces ire from this SBSP ally.
BJP President Amit Shah has asked OP Rajbhar, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party Chief, to come to Delhi. Rajbhar's party is an ally of BJP in UP, yesterday he stated that he will boycott voting for Rajya Sabha elections if he does not get to speak with Shah.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Aditynath is already in the back foot after losing the two important Lok Sabha seats of Gorakhpur and Phulpur in the UP bypolls. These seats were a matter of prestige for both CM Yogi Adityanath an Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya as these were their seats.
Now Yogi is facing wrath of even ally Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP).
SBSP points out that building temples would not solve people's problems. The row was amid celebrations on the completion of Yogi Government's one year in office.
Resistance now from an ally may not be music to the BJP high command and therefore it seems logical that Amit Shah has called O P Rahbhar to meet him today in the national capital at 2PM.
The SBSP leader Om Prakash Rajbhar who is a cabinet minister in the Adityanath government questioned the lavish celebrations by hurling uncomfortable questions.
"We have made this government and it is our duty to repeatedly point out shortcomings. Holding celebrations is not going to serve the purpose. Building temples in Mathura and Kashi will not give education to the poor, or toilets and pension to them," an angry Rajbhar said.
He ha sent the warning signal to Delhi, "If Amit Shah does not talk to us, our four MLAs will boycott the Rajya Sabha elections (on March 23)," Rajbhar emphasised
Rajbhar was not a part of the celebrations and had said, "Let them celebrate...I will not go to attend it till the questions of ration cards, housing, education, medicine and others are not redressed," he said
Rajbhar said that the BJP was ignoring smaller allies, "We kept begging for seats in the local body elections and had to go it alone at the last moment. We were not taken into confidence in the (Lok Sabha) bye-elections. At no place in Purvanchal where senior BJP leaders went they took the name of SBSP or used our flag."
The SBSP is imporant as it has a good presence in pockets of Purvanchal in eastern UP
"They fielded Anil Agarwal. We are alliance partners but they did not tell us or sought our votes for him. I kept saying let us talk but to no avail. Can an elder brother humiliate the younger one like this," he asked.
